Technology in my mentor teacher’s classroom:
I am in a kindergarten classroom so I do not see much technology. The only thing I have really seen so far is my teacher will use the projector to present a craft they will do or play a Youtube video. For example, she put a JustDance Youtube video on the projector and the children followed along.
FreshGrade:
I have never heard of this website as the class that I am in now does not use it and I never did when I was in school. I think it is an awesome resource to use because some parents like to be incredibly involved so having the teacher post about what they are learning can be really beneficial. It is awesome for having less miscommunication and letting the parents take a look into your classroom without actually physically going into the class.
Coding:
I have never coded before and I still am confused about how it all works. My group looked at Hour of Code and we played around with the website. We felt the dance party 2k19 was cool cause it can incorporate a mix of subjects: music, PE, and technology. Each tutorial is an hour-long hence the name, so we felt like this might not be the best website for students to learn to code as they can only pay attention for so long. Code monkey also wasn’t good according to my Peers. Code.org and Scratch seem to be the best websites for coding. I would like to have more practice with this.
